Discuss two benefits of the use of electronic health records (EHRs), one related to the care of an individual patient and one related to population health. How does the use of EHRs facilitate obtaining these benefits?  The two benefits of electronic health records are improve quality of care and less error. When it comes to improve quality of care, patients can be seen at a faster rate because the medical providers are not waiting for the patients health record (hard copy) to be found. That leads to timeliness and efficiency. This also leads to less error because another doctors handwriting may not be understood by the current doctor and having an EHR will alleviate errors such as misdiagnosis and misinterpretation of the overall patient care. 2. Describe a method by which a healthcare provider could both effectively interact with a patient and fulfill the requirements imposed by the healthcare institution’s EHR system. In order to interact with the patient and still fulfill the requirements for the EHR system, the doctor can make sure the position of the computer, still get up and physically exam the patient, make eye contact (instead of focusing on the computer), and most importantly, they can input all the notes after they finish seeing the patient. This way, they are not losing focus and interactive time with the patient and the patient feel like they were not taken care of.
